Gazette takes top gongs at the IMA Awards!
06/12/2013 11:42:00The Law Society Gazette has been named ‘Best Magazine of the Year’ at this year’s Magazines Ireland Awards (IMA) in the business-to-business category.
The Law Society Gazette has been named 鈥楤est Magazine of the Year鈥 at this year鈥檚 Magazines Ireland Awards (IMA) in the business-to-business category.
It also took the trophy for 鈥楳agazine Cover of the Year鈥 for business magazines, for the June 2013 issue.
The awards were presented at a glittering gala ceremony in the Marker Hotel, Dublin, last night (5 December 2013).
They were attended by the Director General Ken Murphy, Deputy Director General Mary Keane, Director of Representation & Member Services Teri Kelly, Gazette editor Mark McDermott, deputy editor Garrett O鈥橞oyle and art director Nuala Redmond.

On the podium, Mark paid tribute to the entire Gazette team, singling out Garrett, Nuala, Catherine and Valerie in the Gazette Admin office, and advertising manager Se谩n 脫 hOis铆n for their creativity, dedication and superb teamwork in producing a magazine whose chief goal was to be as relevant and readable as possible to its readers 鈥 the members of the legal profession.
He praised the invaluable input of the Gazette Editorial Board, led by Chairman Michael Kealey, in initiating article ideas and in providing vital direction on the latest legal developments. These awards belonged, also, to the numerous authors who were a fundamental component in the magazine鈥檚 success.
Keynote speaker and former Director-at-Large of Hello! magazine, Sally Cartwright, singled out the Gazette for particular praise, saying: 鈥淚 love the marvellous individuality of the Gazette and its extremely high editorial standards. It鈥檚 quite unique!鈥
