Winners announced at 28th annual Justice Media Awards
The Belfast rape trial, Cervical Check scandal and the mental health law among the key topics across more than 220 entries.
The Law Society of Ireland has this afternoon (Thursday 27 June 2019) announced the winners of the annual Justice Media Awards, the longest continuously-running media awards in the country.
The top prize was awarded to BBC Northern Ireland, for their Spotlight investigation, When is Sex Rape?
120 of Ireland鈥檚 leading journalists gathered at the Law Society of Ireland鈥檚 historic headquarters at Blackhall Place, Dublin 7, with 35 awards and merits presented to the deserving winners.
鈥淲e believe it is hugely important to recognise and reward excellence in legal journalism,鈥 said President of the Law Society of Ireland Patrick Dorgan.
鈥淭he Justice Media Awards are the pride of the Law Society. Journalism that promotes a greater public understanding of the law, the legal system and specific legal issues is of immeasurable value and this year鈥檚 awards recognise some fine examples.鈥
