Celebrating Pride in 2025

During Pride Month, we’re highlighting our services, resources, and networks to support a changing and diverse legal profession.

OUTLaw Network brunch

OutLaw Network Pride Brunch

The Law Society will again participate in the annual brunch and Pride parade on 28 June in Dublin, as guests of OUTLaw Network.

OUTLaw represents LGBTQ+ lawyers and allies and drives inclusion across the Irish legal community. Members of the legal community are invited to join the Pride brunch in Wigwam before the Parade but are asked to register in advance.

Pride Flag at Blackhall Place

At the Law Society we’re proudly flying the rainbow flag at Blackhall Place for the month of June and lighting the building to represent the rainbow colours during Pride week (22-29 June). Our online presence across our website and social media has also been refreshed with our Pride logo as a visible show of support for the LGBTQ+ community within the legal profession.

Beyond symbolic gestures, we take meaningful action. As a longstanding Pride at Work Partner, we provide ongoing training for our staff, helping to build awareness of unconscious bias and promote a deeper understanding of Diversity, Equity vs. Equality, Intersectionality, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) in the workplace.

Law Society training

Through the Professional Wellbeing Hub, provided by Law Society Skillnet in collaboration with Law Society Psychological Services, solicitors can access complimentary CPD training on work performance, wellbeing and psychological safety.

Books and journal articles

The Law Society Library’s comprehensive resource pack lists key books and articles on 'Equality, Diversity and Inclusion'. These contain a variety of topics including Marriage Equality, Civil Partnership, Same-Sex Parenting, Constitutional Law and Discrimination.

Well Within the Law

Law Society Psychological Services supports solicitors in many ways to be well within the law. This includes our Psychological Safety Toolkits, a guide to embedding psychological safety in legal teams where all members, including those who identify as LGBTQIA+, feel they can speak up freely and share concerns. We also partner with legal workplaces to improve your workplace culture to support a thriving and more inclusive environment.

The GEDI Charter

We recognise the importance of integrating gender equality, diversity and inclusion principles into legal workplaces for the benefit of firms, teams, organisations, clients, and staff. The Law Society Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (GEDI) Charter is a formal way for solicitors’ workplaces to publicly show their commitment to the principles of gender equality, diversity and inclusion. We invite any legal firms, in-house and public sector legal teams who haven't done so already to join us in pledging their names to the Charter, and avail of useful diversity and inclusion resources.
