President of the Law Society of Ireland Michelle Ní Longáin will chair a panel discussion featuring:

Anna Babych, Executive Partner, Aequo

Regarded by industry experts as one of Ukraine’s leading transactional lawyers, Anna focuses on international and domestic mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, and providing general corporate commercial advice to private and public companies. Her transactional experience includes leading roles on a range of the most complex high value deals in recent Ukrainian history.

She also represents clients on a broad range of matters related to setting up optimal legal structures for businesses in Ukraine.

Her client base includes large national and international corporations, financial institutions, and private equity firms operating in the CIS region.

James MacGuill, President of the CCBE and former President of the Law Society

James MacGuill, Managing Partner at MacGuill and Company, was admitted to the role of solicitor in 1986 and was appointed a Notary Public in 1996. He has been in private practice ever since as a litigator with an emphasis on public law, especially criminal law. He has been actively involved in The Law Society of Ireland, has chaired many of its committees and served as President of the Law Society in 2007-2008. He joined the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe in 2008, where he was Head of the Irish Delegation and, later, Chair of its Criminal Law Committee until January 2019.

Gary Lee, Chair of the Law Society’s Human Rights and Equality Committee

Gary is Managing Solicitor of Ballymun Community Law Centre, elected Law Society Council member, Chair of the Law Society’s Human Rights and Equality Committee and Chairperson of mental health tribunals. Gary is also the immediate past Chairperson of the Disability Federation of Ireland and has been appointed by Government to various committees, work groups and task forces over the years.
