Twice a year, the Younger Members Committee organise a series of Career Information Sessions that go out on Tuesday evenings. Each is 30 minutes long and starts at 7 pm. The latest series starts on Tuesday 12 October and features Flor McCarthy talking about ‘Essential Marketing Skills for Solicitors’.
The series this year focuses on ‘essential skills’ that solicitors qualified seven years or less are strongly advised to acquire so that they can meet the challenges that typically face solicitors as their careers develop and they increasingly get involved in management and entrepreneurial matters.
Fiona McKeever is the guest for the second session on 19 October and will talk about ‘Essential Leadership Skills for Solicitors’. Fiona is a solicitor who was a Partner in a large Irish legal firm before establishing herself as an Executive and Leadership Coach.
The session following Fiona’s, on 26 October, will cover ‘Essential Networking Skills for Solicitors’. Then, on Tuesday 2 November, Barry McLoughlin will provide insights on ‘Essential Negotiation Skills for Solicitor’s. Barry is a solicitor who has spent the last 10 years with The Communications Clinic.
Each information session will be short in duration and will aim at providing summary information on each topic covered, with suggestions on how to follow-up and pursue the matter further. These information sessions go out as Zoom events and all younger solicitors and trainees are welcome to attend and participate.
There will be no charge for these events, but you need to register in advance in order to attend. Anyone who wants to attend anonymously can do so and confidentiality is assured. You can register for the first event, with Flor McCarthy as guest speaker,
