An upgrade to the Courts Service’s website, aimed at improving users’ experience of the site, has gone live from today (15 September).
The courts body says that it has been working all weekend on pages that have yet to transition to the , which have experienced technical issues.
It says that the old website did not meet accessibility standards and was not compatible with all devices, while members of the public could not find the information they needed.
It says that the upgrade, part of its , aims to make the site compliant with the EU and improve its accessibility score with the National Disability Authority (NDA).
From Monday, the service says, website users should expect structural upgrades, increased plain-language content, and accessible user-friendly design.
There will be a on the homepage to help users to understand the new navigation.
The courts body warns that the upgrades may mean that pages that users have bookmarked may no longer be available.
The Courts Service is asking for feedback from users on the upgraded website on any technical issues, broken links, or other potential improvements.
Users can submit feedback at: website@courtsappssupport.cloud.gov.ie.
The Courts Service adds that the website’s sections on judgments and determinations will continue to appear and function as they currently do until updates later in the year.
Legal diaries for the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court, and Central Criminal Court will also continue to appear and function as they currently do and will be changed “over time”.
