Tralee practice update for Kerry solicitors

Law Society Skillnet is holding a practice update for solicitors in Kerry on Thursday 11 September.

The event takes place at Ballygarry House Hotel, Tralee, Co Kerry and runs from 10am to 5.30pm. 

A total of six CPD hours by group study are available – 3.5 general, one professional development and solicitor wellbeing, and 1.5 client care and professional standards.

The aim is to offer practitioners a practical update in relevant areas from experienced practitioners and expert speakers.

There will also be an opportunity to network with colleagues over lunch and an evening drinks reception. 

Speakers

Topics will include:

  • Conveyancing update,
  • Cyber-crime and fraud awareness,
  • Company law,
  • Mediation – an overview and review of recent cases,
  • Regulatory performance updates and AML,
  • Family-law update – including new processes and procedures,
  • Probate practice update,
  • Introduction to the use of AI, and
  • Review and update on assisted decision-making. 

Law Society Council member Richard Hammond SC (Hammond Good LLP) will chair the event.

  • Sorcha Hayes (Law Society Head of Practice Regulation),
  • Grace Murphy (senior fraud analyst, Bank of Ireland),
  • Padraic Courtney (secretary, Law Society Probate, Administration and Trusts Committee),
  • Hilda-Clare O’Shea (partner, St John Solicitors),
  • Simon Treanor (financial-regulation executive, Law Society), and
  • Michelle Nolan (head of solicitor services, Law Society).
