IP and data event to look at copycat products
This year’s annual conference of the Law Society’s Intellectual Property and Data Protection Law Committee will take place next Tuesday (23 September).
The event, organised by Law Society Professional Training, will explore recent developments in intellectual property (IP) in the digital world and in respect of copycat products.
The in-person conference runs from 2pm to 5.15pm at Blackhall Place and is worth three general CPD hours by group study.
IP trends
Topics and presentations will include:
- Getty Images (US) inc and others v Stability AI Ltd: Copyright and the training of AI large language models,
- Developments in the enforcement of intellectual-property rights against copycat products – including an analysis of the application of the British Court of Appeal decision in Thatchers Cider v Aldi in Ireland, and
- Trends in intellectual property being seen by the Intellectual Property Office of Ireland and the EUIPO.
