William Fry unit scoops fintech award

William Fry has been recognised as FinTech Professional Advisor/Team of the Year at the prestigious National FinTech Awards 2025, held at the Round Room, Mansion House, Dublin (9 October).

This marks the second time William Fry has received this honour, having first won the award in the inaugural National FinTech Awards in 2023.

The group gives solutions-focused advice to tintechs and financial institutions on all aspects of regulation and compliance.

The team brings together lawyers specialising in financial regulation, technology, corporate transactions, and data protection.

Practical ethos

Highlights of the past year include supporting multiple firms to secure authorisation as a crypto-asset service provider, securing 30% of successful applicants for authorisation as an electronic money institutions to date in Ireland and multiple mandates assisting firms with DORA compliance.

Shane Kelleher (fintech co-chair) said: "This award is a testament to the dedication, expertise and practical ethos of our team and the quality of our client relationships and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to this success."
