Law Society trainees win Michael Peart contest

A team of trainees from the Law Society has won the Michael Peart Cross Border Mediation competition, which took place in Belfast (10 October).

This annual event was hosted by Belfast’s Institute of Professional Legal Studies (IPLS).

Collaboration

The cross-border competition is a collaboration between the Law Society and the North’s Institute of Professional Legal Studies (IPLS).

This year, nine teams of four trainees each participated in two mediation rounds, showcasing their dispute resolution  and negotiation skills.

The competition promotes the value of resolving disputes through mediation and is designed to help trainees from both institutions develop their mediation skills while receiving constructive feedback from expert practitioners.

The winning Law Society team consisted of:

  • Lee Maguire – ByrneWallace,
  • Lauren Dench – McCann FitzGerald,
  • Kate Lyttle – William Fry,
  • Jennifer Maguire – A&L Goodbody.

The team demonstrated outstanding teamwork and professionalism throughout the competition.

Congratulations to all participants for contributing to another successful and engaging event celebrating cross-border collaboration and mediation excellence.
