Conference to hear property-law updates

An annual conference on property law takes place in the Law Society next week (15 October).

The conference is organised by Law Society Professional Training, in collaboration with the Law Society Conveyancing Committee.

Four CPD hours are available – 3.5 general and 0.5 professional development and solicitor wellbeing.

The event starts at 1.30pm and runs until 6pm.

Topical issues

The aim of the seminar is to provide practitioners with an overview of recent and on-going developments in property-law practice from a practical perspective.

Topical issues of concern and interest will be covered in a comprehensive update.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Review of recent practice notes,
  • Residential Zoned Land Tax update,
  • Recent developments with MUDS,
  • Building agreement and contract for sale,
  • Land Registry update,
  • Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015,
  • Conveyancing practice reform, and
  • Emotional and psychological demands of working in small practices.

Chair of the Conveyancing Committee Eleanor Mc Kiernan (partner, Augustus Cullen Law LLP) will chair the event.
