Cork course on planning for retirement

Law Society Skillnet has organised a one-day course in Cork on retirement planning for legal practitioners.

The course will take place at the Kingsley Hotel, Cork, on Thursday 4 September (10am to 4pm).

The in-person event is worth a total of five CPD hours – one for client care and professional standards, one general, and three professional development and solicitor wellbeing.

Topics and speakers:

Topics include:

  • A brief overview of retirement and its significance in one's life,
  • Why retirement planning is crucial,
  • Different retirement options,
  • Movement, mobility, and independence for the future,
  • Prepare your mind for retirement,
  • Regulation: what to do when you close your firm, and
  • Tax and retirement.

The speakers include:

  • Mike O’Reilly (principal, O’Reilly Business Solutions),
  • Maggie Mulpeter (retired solicitor, relationship and parent mentor, public speaker, and group facilitator),
  • Sarah Keogh (founder, Eatwell),
  • Liam Barrett (solicitor, Law Society regulation department), and
  • Michael O’Scathaill (director, taxation, Crowe).
