McCann FitzGerald Brexit expert and partner John Cronin (pictured above) has been elected as President of the British-Irish Chamber of Commerce.
The first solicitor appointed to the role, John Cronin succeeds outgoing President, Eoin O鈥橬eill.
John Cronin is a former chairman and managing partner at McCann FitzGerald and is currently the head of the firm鈥檚 Brexit Group, gearing him for a key oversight role in the 鈧1.2 billion-a-week trade relationship between Britain and Ireland
John is also a non-executive director of building materials group, Kingspan Group Plc.
He said; 鈥淭he maintenance of focus on the value of the two-way trade between Ireland and the UK is key to the Chamber and we wish to play a role in shaping a successful future for such trade irrespective of Brexit and its possible outcomes.鈥
The British Irish Chamber of Commerce is a private sector trade organisation, founded in 2011 to represent businesses and employers with interests in the two islands of Great Britain and Ireland.
Trade between the two countries supports 400,000 jobs between the two islands.
