Payment for Interpreters attending at Garda Stations

Queries have recently arisen regarding the payment structure for interpreters providing services to persons detained in garda stations and the proper procedure for the processing of claims in relation to same.
The Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform has advised that, in such circumstances, the invoice for the interpreter should be submitted along with the practitioner鈥檚 own claim form under the Garda Station Legal Advice Scheme. Both will then be submitted to the finance division of the department for payment.
