The Society has been made aware that headed notepaper of Malone & Potter has been used in correspondence with a tenant of a property that had been taken into receivership.

Furthermore, it has been confirmed that this headed notepaper went out of circulation in 2001.

The letter stated:

鈥淲e have engaged the services of a Property Management Company, to the property and they have full authority to deal with all property and tenancy-related matters, they will make contact in the next seven days.

The property is now under the control of the Joint Receiver from the date of appointment and the previous landlord鈥檚 authority now ceases.  All rent from the date of appointment is payable to the Receiver and payments to parties other than those specified in the letter will not be recognised as legitimate discharge of your rental commitments.鈥
